History of Biryani
The word "biryani" comes from its Persian origin which means "fried before cooking". Whether the act of frying refers to frying the rice grain or others is not known but many afficiniados thinks the former is the case.
I am 40 now, of good health, not rich but comfortable. I am in professional business. I love to cook, eat, read, write and watch old Malay movies. The new movies, sorry, none that I like. If I am allowed only one profession to do in my life I would have chosen cooking biryani. This is something which I can do even without being paid. I have not cooked for big functions ( no opportunity yet, not that I can't) but I have no problem cooking for say 50 to 100 provided I am provided with helper/s, right utensils and a bit of space.
